Renovations at St-Michaels church, Munich

In the Neuhauserstrasse you find an artificial facade of the Saint Michael church. They are renovating the real facade but allow all passers to view how it should look. This is a method which is generally applied in Munich and gives a much better impression in the street. From the outside, the church looks rather small but when you enter, you are confronted with a large beautiful sanctuary. I can not believe how many amazing churches there are in Munich. Each time I am surprised. If you like architecture and churches this is a city you have to visit. It a Jesuit church and was constructed during the period 1583-1597. The interior is just fantastic and on the official site of Saint Michael, they added an unbelievable 360 degrees panorama view.

  1. This is the first Jesuit church north of the Alps, & it's modeled after the Roman church Il Gesu, the first Jesuit church
