The Holocaust memorial in Miami Beach

We have visited several Holocaust Memorials in the world: Berlin, Prague, Boston, Amsterdam, and now in Miami. The Miami memorial in memory of six million Jewish Victims is one of the most impressive. The museum is located at Meridian Avenue and was created by Kenneth Treister. The main sculpture is a giant arm which represents the last reach of a dying man. The people sculptured below try to escape and help each other.

  1. A very sombre and moving sculpture. The horrors experienced are beyond description yet the desire to help and protect each other must have lived on.

  3. So horribly sad, and tragic it all was, more senseless and cruel and brutal deaths. It is a very fine tribute, nearing the same level of pain just by seeing it. I haven't been there, and this is the first I've seen it presented, thanks for sharing it.

  8. This arm sculpting is very moving, to say the least. And also the wall with names on it. I have never seen this memorial, but you have prompted me to go see it in march when I take my grandson on a cruise leaving from this area. Pretty thought provoking.

  10. A very moving and impressive memorial. It is overwhelming to see so many victims' names on the marble wall.
