London South Bank skate park and graffiti at the Wahaca complex

It was already dark and I was walking from the Hungerford Bridge to Waterloo Bridge on my way to a restaurant. The views of London from the South Bank are amazing but I was a bit cautious approaching an area with many youngster rollerblading, skateboarding and riding BMX’s. The atmosphere was friendly but wild. I was not brave enough to go into the underground garage area when all the action took place.

When I came back from the restaurant the place was deserted. A lonely biker was practising his jumps against one of the graffiti walls. This was a good opportunity to have a closer look. Late in the evening these places give you a special feeling, you are in world far away from your own reality. Welcome stranger!

Welkom vreemdeling.!

  1. Oh my, this is art at it's rarest best! I'm not so sure I'd want to be walking out there alone, but it would be something to view for sure!

  2. The first two pictures are just gorgeous, I have never seen anything quite like them. The graffiti place, it looks like a parking garage?? It could be a very scary and maybe dangerous place at times, is it known for crime?

  11. That underground is very colorful, but looks a little bit scary to me. Even though it looks deserted, there are some pretty dark corners there... looks to me like you were pretty brave after all
