Vintage bicycles on the joyful velodrome, Blankenberge

Most of us know velodromes as round indoor cycling tracks for the Olympic Games or World Championships. Those events are broadcasted on TV and the general public is reminded of their existence.

In Blankenberge you have an outdoor wooden Velodrome which is 80 years old. The curves are not as high as the modern indoor tracks but they are not flat. The most interesting feature is that the bicycles are also old and odd. They are available in different types: small, large, all colours, different size of wheels going to the extreme, some of them even go up one down when you ride them. You pay one ticket to use the velodrome and you are allowed to try out different bikes. Enjoy.
